“Jyothirgamaya” is a social initiative by Computer Science Department of Saingits College of Engineering, which is being conducted every year since 2013.This year there were 2 schools involved in this programme ,CMS L.P School ,Punneveli and Govt. L.P School ,Pathamuttom. The program was scheduled to be held in 2 phases. The first phase was held in the month of October 2016 on the dates 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd. The students of S7 CSE voluntarily came forward to train the students. The trainees were divided into two groups. A group of 15 trainees along with the staff coordinate Asst. Prof. Manu Ratheesh was sent to the CMS LP School, Punnaveli. The rest of the trainees along with the staff coordinators Asst.Prof. Nithin Prince John, Asst.Prof. Selvam E and Asst.Prof. Justin Mathew were present at the college to train the students from Govt. LP School Pathamuttom. Students from standard 1 to 4 attended the classes. There were a total participation of 60 students, 40 from CMS Punneveli and 20 from Pathamuttom.
